Building Decent Homes In Decent Communities

Habitat for Humanity Georgetown County builds 8 to 9 homes per year at a cost of approximately $60,000 per home. Various organizations sponsor houses by providing a combination of direct funding, in-kind donations of materials and services, and volunteer labor. House sponsors include faith-based communities, corporations large and small, community organizations, foundations and individuals. In many cases, several sponsors combine forces to fund a home.

Sponsor Levels

Individuals and groups are invited to join us for a full day of house construction. HFHGC builds every Tuesday and Thursday and some Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays are our most popular day and are often filled months in advance. A volunteer commitment of one day is all we ask. If you enjoy the experience -- and we hope you will! -- you may contact us to schedule additional dates. So come once, or come once in awhile ...we're always building houses! The size of a group is generally 6-10. This can vary depending on the number of houses we are building, time of year, day of the week, other volunteers scheduled and number of available construction supervisors.

Full Sponsorship

Coalitions of faith communities, larger corporations and foundations often fully fund homes. Our family of full house sponsors includes Bell Legal Group, Centex Homes, Dawol Homes, Westmoreland Group, Scott Trotter, Coastal Carolina Association of Realtors, Coldwell Banker Chicora and faith-based coalitions from area Ecumenical Church partnerships including Precious Blood Catholic Church, Belin Methodist Church, St. Paul's Waccamaw United Methodist Church, St. Peter's Lutheran Church, All Saints Church, Holy Cross Faith Memorial Episcopal Church, Pawleys Island Community Church, Prince George Episcopal, Presbyterian Church Build of Georgetown, Murrells Inlet, Pawleys Island and others.

Partial Sponsorship

To be acknowledged as a house sponsor, an organization must contribute a minimum of $10,000. When a house has only partial sponsorship, HFHGC recruits other partial sponsors to make up the difference. A sponsor in this category is The Lions Club.

Benefits of Sponsorship

Identification with Habitat, a highly recognizable brand both locally and nationally, as well as identification with a particular house project and Habitat family.

Note: If a sponsor cannot provide all the volunteers based on its allocation, Habitat has many people who are willing to volunteer! Top billing in the groundbreaking and wall-raising ceremonies, as well as the dedication ceremony.
